There are three categories of knowledge:
- Things you know you know. Your existing knowledge and skills.
- Things you know you don’t know. At least your aware of the gaps and can seek answers.
- Things you don’t even know you don’t know! These can be the most dangerous because you don’t recognize that something is missing.
That third one can be a real killer when you’re running a practice!
You know when you’re short-staffed, when cancellations are climbing, or when production is down. Those are problems you can see and tackle.
But what about the problems you don’t even recognize? The hidden inefficiencies, missed opportunities, management mistakes and lost profits that quietly eat away at your success?
It’s like something keeps biting you on the backside, but you can’t figure out what’s doing the biting!
You can’t fix a problem you don’t know exists.
That’s where experienced outside eyes, practical training and good consulting can make an enormous difference.
After all, the more you know, the better you can manage, the more your practice can prosper, and the less your backside gets bitten!
